The 1916 Company, known for its expertise in collectible watches and fine jewelry, has launched a new jewelry collection in collaboration with WTA tennis star Paula Badosa. Titled Aces by Paula Badosa, the collection was introduced on May 20 in Philadelphia and is available exclusively through The 1916 Company’s boutiques and lounges.

The collection has been designed to reflect Ms. Badosa’s personal journey, one shaped by athletic discipline, resilience, and constant evolution. The right-handed tennis player, who plays for Spain, worked closely with The 1916 Company’s experts to create jewelry that has emotional depth and is also practical for daily wear.
Crafted in 18k gold and diamonds, each piece in the collection is inspired by elements of motion, transformation, and the energy of the sun. The sharp sunburst patterns represent Ms. Badosa’s power and intensity as an athlete, while the fluid lines speak to personal growth and change. The overall design aims to connect performance with elegance in a way that feels modern and expressive.
Ms. Badosa said, “Aces embodies strength, elegance, and a deep personal connection. As a tennis player, I’m always navigating pressure and performance, and I wanted this collection to capture that energy and transform it into something timeless that people can wear every day. Each piece honors resilience and emotion, drawing inspiration from both my journey on the court – the victories, challenges, and growth – and my family’s legacy. My grandmother was a jeweler, and I grew up surrounded by the beauty and significance of her creations. This collection is a tribute to that legacy, and it was a true privilege to bring it to life with The 1916 Company.” The player is back in the game this year after an injury.
The Aces collection is divided into three lines, Vida, Aura, and Alma, with each one focusing on a different phase of growth and self-discovery.

The Vida Collection highlights vitality and movement through delicate sunburst designs and diamonds. Designed for layering, it offers a balance between lightness and impact, and reflects the idea of transformation through consistency and ambition.
The Aura Collection is built around the sun’s ability to rise and radiate. The pieces include soft, sun-inspired motifs paired with diamonds and are meant to express quiet power, renewal, and forward motion. This line offers versatility in form while staying grounded in meaning.

The Alma Collection carries a more personal tone. Developed with input from Ms. Badosa and her father, it includes tennis racket details and detachable diamond chains. The line is a tribute to her childhood, her family’s connection to jewelry, and her identity as a professional athlete.
Speaking on the collaboration, John Shmerler, CEO of The 1916 Company, said, “Paula Badosa’s dedication to her craft and her journey of personal evolution resonate deeply with our values at The 1916 Company. With Aces, we’ve created a collection that merges the elegance of fine jewelry with the spirit of a champion. We’re honored to present this collection, mirroring the strength and ambition that define Paula and inspire so many.”
