White Desert, the company behind some of Antarctica’s most exclusive journeys, is heading to South America with The Dr. Jones Collection, a new travel series launching in September 2025. Travelers will be able to experience the 12-day journey from Peru to Patagonia beginning September 2025, with White Desert combining adventure and luxury in a way that has not been seen before outside of the Polar Regions.
For the first time, White Desert will operate a luxuriously refitted ‘Dakota’ aircraft that can land on remote airstrips. This capability will allow guests to reach some of the most unexplored and inaccessible locations on the continent, traveling with ease and style.
The itinerary has been carefully designed to showcase a wide variety of landscapes. The journey will start in Peru, near the towering Gocta waterfall, which is the third highest waterfall in the world. Guests will hike through Amazonian cloud forests to discover ancient mummies. After a short flight, they will arrive at the newly established Dune Camp, located beside an oasis where diving for prized fan shells is available.
Next, the expedition will move to the salt flats of the Atacama Desert. Here, guests will experience unparalleled stargazing opportunities before hiking through a canyon to reach volcanic hot springs. The final destination is Patagonia’s Torres del Paine, where guests will ride horses with authentic gauchos, surrounded by glaciers that cascade into the open sea.
