After over 25 years of working in Indian menswear couture, designers Shantnu & Nikhil Mehra have introduced a new direction in their creative journey with the launch of Shantnu Nikhil Luxe. Marking their entry into women’s red carpet couture, the line is described as their most bold and feminine offering so far. Actor Wamiqa Gabbi features as the face of the campaign, and the designers have also opened their first exclusive Luxe flagship store at The Dhan Mill Compound, Delhi—a space known for housing fashion-forward labels.
The designers see Luxe as a response to the growing demand from women who have connected with the label’s structured silhouettes and distinctive visual language over the years. Shantnu Mehra said, “For over two decades, we’ve built a stronghold in men’s couture, constantly challenging conventions with our structured silhouettes and India-proud narratives. During this time, we’ve also seen a growing demand from women who resonated with our language of strength and subtle rebellion. Luxe is a new language, built for women who want to feel powerful, sensual, and unconfined. It’s our ode to the women who have inspired us, supported us, and pushed us to expand our creative vocabulary.”
Shantnu Nikhil Luxe focuses on sculpted gowns, mini couture dresses, corseted shapes, and fluid drapes. The designs are aimed at women who want their eveningwear to feel strong, glamorous, and deliberate. While the designers continue using structure and storytelling as their foundation, Luxe brings in a feminine viewpoint that was previously missing from the brand’s core couture offering.
Nikhil Mehra said, “Shantnu Nikhil Luxe is our most evocative expression yet. It is bold, dramatic, and deeply feminine. It’s about owning your narrative on your terms. In Wamiqa, we found the perfect woman to represent that spirit—fierce, stylish, and emotionally rooted in her identity, much like the women we design for. With Luxe, we’ve pushed the boundaries of structure and fluidity to create red carpet couture that’s not just seen, but remembered. It’s not an extension,it’s a mood, a moment, a movement.”
Wamiqa Gabbi said, “Wearing Luxe feels like stepping into your most confident self. It’s sensual, sculpted, and completely liberating. Every silhouette feels like a statement—and I’m proud to represent a brand that’s pushing the boundaries of Indian couture for women.”
Shantnu Nikhil Luxe is presented as a separate identity rather than a continuation of existing collections. With a dedicated flagship at The Dhan Mill, a defined visual tone, and a campaign built around strength and sensuality, Luxe has been positioned to hold its own space within the brand’s overall design story.
