British sailing yacht builder Oyster Yachts has revealed the Oyster 805, an 80-foot superyacht-inspired bluewater cruiser that brings together luxury, performance, and versatility. Positioned between the Oyster 745 and the 885 Series II, this new model introduces superyacht features and customization options in a sailing yacht designed for serious long-distance cruising. The 805 reflects Oyster’s focus on strength, craftsmanship, and seaworthiness, built to take owners anywhere with confidence.
The design partnership with Humphreys Yacht Design has produced an exterior profile that combines sleek, iconic lines with three sets of signature Seascape windows. Larger hull ports and increased window sizes provide expansive views from the saloon, master, and guest cabins, flooding the interior with natural light and creating a strong connection to the sea. The yacht’s wraparound deck saloon windows and bold stance on the water enhance her presence and character.
Inside, the Oyster 805 offers flexible layouts to suit various lifestyles. Owners can customize the four en-suite cabins into spaces such as a gym, private library, snug, or office. The saloon may be arranged to include a day bar, giving guests easy access to refreshments while maintaining separation from the galley. This level of customization makes the yacht feel more like a home than a traditional vessel.
Richard Hadida, Owner and Chairman of Oyster Yachts, said, “The Oyster 805 is the yacht I dreamed of when I took the helm at Oyster, she’s striking, luxurious, and built to take you anywhere. I’m proud of what she represents the next generation of Oyster.”
The deck layout focuses on comfort and practical use. The foredeck features a sunken tender well that can convert into a relaxing chill-out zone. The center cockpit includes a new daybed protected by a fixed, solar-powered Starlight Bimini, making it a perfect spot for alfresco dining or lounging. Wing seats built into the cockpit coamings provide excellent visibility for skipper and guests beside the helm. The twin-access bathing platform at the stern offers easy and safe entry to the water, dock, or tender, reflecting the yacht’s emphasis on convenience and enjoyment.
Performance is a key priority. The Oyster 805 has a hydrodynamic hull that delivers both exciting sailing and comfortable passage-making. It is Lloyd’s certified for strong construction and offers keel options, including a standard 3.42m (11’2”) draft and an optional shoal keel of 2.67m (8’7”), allowing access to more remote anchorages than many other superyachts. At under 24 meters, it also meets Europe’s seagrass regulations, making it suitable for a wider range of cruising grounds.
Ashley Highfield, CEO of Oyster Yachts, said, “The announcement of the Oyster 805 heralds a new era for our fleet of luxury bluewater sailing yachts. She combines our classic styling with superyacht thinking and innovation into an 80-foot yacht, while delivering everything Oyster stands for: strength of construction, world-class craftsmanship, elegance, and the confidence to explore the world backed by our unrivalled global support services. We are incredibly proud of the work that has gone into all elements of this new model, and look forward to seeing her on the water in the future.”
Technology integration is advanced, with the latest navigation, entertainment, and monitoring systems controlled through Oyster Command. This system uses a touchscreen or the Oyster App to manage all main systems digitally. Satellite, Wi-Fi, and a dedicated home office make it possible for owners to work or stay connected wherever they sail.
Rob and Tom Humphreys from Humphreys Yacht Design said, “The Oyster 805 has been an exciting design to develop, moving the performance profile upwards while conceding nothing in terms of Oyster’s core bluewater values of safety, seakindliness and comfort. The latter part of that formula is ingrained in our culture with over 100 HYD Oysters now having successfully completed circumnavigations, and it is with respect to this provenance that we have taken the 805 forward.”
The Oyster 805 will be built to order, with the first hull expected to launch in 2027. It combines superyacht luxury, practical customization, and bluewater capability, offering owners a comfortable and stylish way to explore the world.
