Maison Dior, guided by the vision of Victoire de Castellane, the creative mind behind this latest venture, has crafted something truly special. The collection, called Diorexquise, pays homage to three themes that Christian Dior himself cherished: enchanting landscapes, delicate bouquets, and magical galas. It’s structured as what Dior calls a ‘dazzling triptych’.
A vibrant burst of shades, each piece uses layers and contrasts between precious and semi-precious gemstones, diamonds, and mineral backgrounds to create scenes that reflect the passage of time and nature’s changes.
The collection follows the seasons, moving from the cold tones of winter to the fresh growth of spring and the bright energy of summer. Necklaces, rings, and earrings capture moments where fantasy and reality meet.
The collection highlights the opale doublet technique, where layers of opal are mounted on onyx or mother-of-pearl to recreate the subtle tones of the sky or water.
Another key technique is plique-à-jour, which turns jewels into miniature stained glass windows that let light pass through lacquer – a signature of Dior Joaillerie.
Painstakingly created miniature flowers and blooms are set with diamonds, pearls and other gems, in a perfect display of mixed materials art.
The Diorexquis collection marks Dior’s effort to expand the possibilities of high jewelry. The collection shows how traditional craftsmanship can meet contemporary vision, creating pieces that work as both luxury accessories and artistic expressions appealing to both jewelry enthusiasts and collectors.
