Aman has announced that reservations are now open for Aman Rosa Alpina, set to reopen on July 24 in San Cassiano, a village in Italy’s UNESCO-listed Dolomites. The historic mountain retreat, formerly known as Rosa Alpina, has been transformed into an Aman property following a detailed redesign by architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, a longtime collaborator with the brand.
The renovation focuses on preserving the character of the original property while aligning it with Aman’s approach to privacy, calmness, and attentive service. The design uses timber, natural stone, and black metal accents to keep the alpine feel intact. A new double-height arrival space, featuring a custom bar inspired by Rosa Alpina’s original piano bar, acts as a central gathering spot with views of the surrounding mountains.
The property’s 52 rooms and suites have been completely reconfigured. New additions include two Aman Suites measuring 150 square metres each and a redesigned Chalet Zeno. The chalet now has two larger suites that together form a private retreat for up to four guests.
Aman Rosa Alpina will offer new dining and lounge options. Guests can expect an Italian grill, a breakfast room with live cooking stations, and an all-day lounge serving tea and cocktails. There will also be a cigar lounge for evenings, featuring aged spirits and premium cigars. A private wine library will host tastings led by experts, focusing on Italian food and wine traditions. A new Japanese restaurant is planned for the winter season.
Wellness is a core part of the reopening. The new Aman Spa includes three swimming pools (two indoors, one outdoors), a Jacuzzi, and a treatment menu built around the natural environment of the Dolomites. Aman’s signature therapies will be available, with a focus on relaxation and recovery.
Other additions include three private cinemas, games rooms for children, teenagers, and adults, and a Ski Lounge with heated boot racks and equipment rental. These features aim to make the transition between indoor comfort and outdoor activities as smooth as possible.
Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group, said, “The reimagining of Rosa Alpina as Aman Rosa Alpina marks a meaningful chapter for our brand. I first discovered this extraordinary property as a guest many years ago and developed a long-standing friendship with the Pizzinini family. What began as admiration quickly turned into a shared dream to preserve and elevate the spirit of this unique place for future generations of Aman guests. The decision to partner and invest in the hotel was not only inspired by its unmatched location in the heart of the Dolomites, but to create a sanctuary that reflects both the culture of the region and the essence of Aman, through intuitive service, ultimate privacy and exclusive experiences.”
Aman Rosa Alpina will also offer access to more than 1,200 kilometres of ski slopes in winter and a wide range of outdoor activities—such as hiking and climbing—during the warmer months. Guests will have the chance to visit two private mountain cabins owned by the Pizzinini family, where a private chef will serve wood-fired lunches after guided hikes.

Hugo and Ursula Pizzinini, said, “The transition of the hotel into Aman Rosa Alpina marks an important and considered step forward. Partnering with Aman allows us to honour the legacy of our family’s ownership and three generations of hospitality, while joining a brand renowned for its uncompromising attention to detail and deep reverence for place. Our commitment remains steadfast: Aman Rosa Alpina will continue to embody the spirit of the region, with the authenticity and excellence our guests have come to expect. As we embrace this exciting era, we look forward to welcoming new guests and reconnecting with those who have been part of our story for generations.”
The property is now open for bookings for both the upcoming summer and winter seasons. Aman Rosa Alpina will operate year-round, offering access to seasonal activities, newly introduced dining and wellness facilities, and enhanced accommodations aimed at couples, families, and group travellers.
