Making Traveling Easy When You Have to Hop Around

Bring the fun back into multi-destination travel planning – here are some tips.

If you are planning a big trip, or you’re looking to plan a multi-city trip, you are at the risk of bailing out of going because it becomes very confusing trying to plan everything in one go. If you’ve been on a few trips already, then you know that the planning that goes behind accommodation, transport and any tickets and sites you want to see along the way can take some time, and it can be all consuming if you don’t get your itinerary right.

Travel planning

You need a useful starting point to help you to begin your travel journey, and for that reason we’ve put together a list of how you can make travel as easy as possible.

  1. Book everything in advance. If you’re planning on traveling through Baltimore, for example, on your way east or west, then booking your apartment in advance is going to stand you in good stead when it comes to your budget. Finding the best apartments for rent Baltimore has to offer isn’t as hard as you think. You should do this in every single city that you plan to visit because knowing that you’ve got your accommodation sorted out at a decent rate is going to help you to feel more relaxed about the journey you’re about to take.
  2. Pack lightly. City hopping is fun, but you don’t need to bring two or three giant suitcases with you to enjoy your time. Take out everything you think you will need and spread it out on the floor or the bed and then take a look online for wash facilities in every property that you’re going to. You can recycle the same 4 to 5 outfits throughout your time depending on the weather. The last thing you want to do is to carry anything heavier than a backpack.
  3. Make everything travel sized. If you’re planning on going on a few flights, then bring travel-sized bottles with you. You can tape them shut or roll them into plastic bags so that they don’t burst on route. It’s so much easier to clean out a plastic bag than your entire toiletry case. And if you’ve got travel-sized bottles, you know that you’re going to be taking some in your hand luggage and some in your cabin luggage.
  4. Flesh out your itinerary. Once you have booked all your accommodation and travel options, flesh out the itinerary itself so that you are hitting the best areas and tourist traps while you visit each city. This will help you to understand whether or not you need to book any tickets in advance or if there are any US city museums that are free to visit. The more you hold down your budget the better because then you can free it up for more luxury items!

Travel planning

Travelling is going to be a lot easier when you plan everything far in advance, so make sure that you have mapped out exactly which cities you plan to visit and how you plan to get there and where you plan to stay. Once you’ve done that, the rest comes easily.
