This latest collaboration pays tribute to the visionary who built one of the most prestigious automotive brands in the world, leaving an indelible mark on racing and engineering.

Montblanc Enzo Ferrari pen

Enzo Ferrari’s journey began with a deep-rooted passion for automobile racing, winning his first race at the Circuito del Savio in 1923. By 1929, he had established Scuderia Ferrari, and within decades, Ferrari became a household name, with sales tripling between 1950 and 1960. His innovations in racing and car manufacturing solidified Ferrari as a symbol of speed, luxury, and engineering excellence.

The Giallo Modena Special Edition pen embodies this legacy with meticulous design inspired by Ferrari’s history. The cap and barrel are finished in Giallo Modena, the iconic yellow shade representing Modena, Ferrari’s birthplace. The pen’s silhouette takes cues from the Ferrari 500, winner of the first Formula One World Championship for the Scuderia Ferrari in 1952.

Key details on the pen capture Ferrari’s spirit. The back of the cap features the Prancing Horse logo, accompanied by the words of Countess Paolina di Biancoli, who originally suggested Ferrari use the emblem on his cars in 1923: “Le porterà fortuna” (It will bring you luck). The clip is engraved with Ferrari’s own words: “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it”.

The lines that adorn the side of the cap are inspired by three inward-facing vents, while the six lines on either side of the ruthenium-coated metal clip represent a Ferrari V12 engine, a nod to the marque’s speed and engineering prowess. A further tribute to Ferrari’s roots appears on the cap’s ring, which is inscribed with “Officina Meccanica Alfredo Ferrari”, honoring Enzo’s father’s workshop. The ruthenium-coated metal cone carries two engraved dates, February 18, 1898, Ferrari’s birth, and June 17, 1923, marking his first racing victory.

Montblanc’s dedication to storytelling continues with the solid Au 585 gold nib, adorned with an engraving of a Ferrari 250 GTO steering wheel and the nickname “Pilota”, a title Ferrari earned through his racing prowess. The pen is crowned with Montblanc’s signature emblem in deep blue, a second nod to Modena’s colors, embedded within a metal grid reminiscent of vintage Ferrari car grilles.

To complement this edition, Montblanc is releasing a Giallo Modena notebook, featuring a Ferrari V12 engine sketch on the cover, and a purple ink inspired by Ferrari’s preference for writing in purple.

The Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition Giallo Modena is available as a fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint at Montblanc boutiques and online.
