After a long wait, Raffles Hotels & Resorts has opened its second hotel in India, Raffles Jaipur. The company’s first Indian hotel opened in Udaipur. Since then, the Accor Group has grown its footprint in the country. This new retreat has recreated a palace in a modern style honoring the royal lifestyle that has shaped Rajasthan for hundreds of years.
Located in Kukas, a quick drive from the main sights of the legendary Pink City of Jaipur, and encircled by the peaceful Aravalli Hills, Raffles Jaipur combines modern luxury with historical appeal. The hotel aims to give guests an outstanding stay, with luxurious rooms, top-notch restaurants, and excellent wellness centers.
The property’s design and interior take inspiration from Jaipur’s rich culture featuring detailed lavish handwork decorations on marble that showcase the city’s royal history.
Each aspect of the reimagined palace retreat is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans, seamlessly merging Mughal and Rajputana architectural traditions. A Shikar tent reminds of royal Mughal expeditions while its hand-carved sandstone columns showcase Rajasthani architecture.
The grand hall, adorned with opulent Mughal furnishings and patterned marble floors, leads to a hidden mirrored door opening into a light-filled atrium inspired by the women’s quarters of the Mughal court.
Raffles’s renowned Butler Service will be available at the Jaipur property as well. The service, however, will also include curated healing rituals featuring botanical-infused baths, health elixirs, and plant-based ointments, blending luxury with cultural tradition, for the Jaipur property.
The hotel offers 50 unique guestrooms and suites. Each room boasts an expansive balcony, complete with an outdoor soaking tub or plunge pool. Intricate details abound, from painted corniced ceilings and golden murals to camel bone inlay furniture, locally sourced artifacts, and carpets woven in Jaipur.
Raffles always aims to provide extraordinary culinary offerings, but this time would be with an interesting twist. Arkaa, the specialty restaurant, draws inspiration from the plant-based culinary traditions of the Mughal Zenana, showcasing Progressive North Indian dishes made with local micro-farm ingredients.
The Writers Bar offers the Jaipur Sling, a twist on the Singapore Sling with orange liqueur, local herbal liqueur, pineapple juice, lime bitters, and Indian dry gin. Safir provides traditional afternoon tea, and Sehara, the rooftop bar, serves Mediterranean-inspired Italian dishes with views of the Aravalli Hills.
Guests will be able to enjoy a 620-square-metre spa, rooftop pool, fitness studio, and events celebrating local heritage. The upcoming Artisan Trail will connect guests with local artisans.
“Every element of Raffles Jaipur has been thoughtfully considered, from the architecture and design to the culinary offerings and wellness experiences. We hope to inspire our guests to immerse themselves in the local Rajasthani culture, while inviting locals to experience their home through a lens that is distinct to Raffles,” Binny Sebastian, General Manager of Raffles Jaipur, said.
This retreat is a masterpiece promising an unparalleled stay for discerning travelers.
