Having lent his expertise to renowned watchmakers worldwide, Mr. Candaux’s journey is a seamless blend of tradition and avant-garde craftsmanship. In 2017, Mr. Candaux introduced the DC1 collection, a groundbreaking venture that defied contemporary trends in the watchmaking realm. This collection not only marked the inception of his eponymous brand but also showcased his daring approach to design and incorporation of cutting-edge technologies. Among the collection’s distinctive features is an asymmetrical case reminiscent of a bassinée, offering a refreshing departure from conventional designs, and a retractable “Magic Crown” at 6 o’clock enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
Fast forward to April 2024, and the DC1 collection continues to evolve with the latest masterpiece, crafted from titanium, epitomizing the brand’s dedication to ergonomics, efficiency, and ease of use. This timepiece is more than a feat of engineering; it is a heartfelt tribute to Mr. Candaux’s father, a master of complications, and his mentor, the esteemed Philippe Dufour, a luminary in the prestigious AHCI. The timepiece will be launched from April 9 to 14 in Geneva.
This exquisite timepiece boasts a 55-hour chronometric power reserve. The center seconds hand, crafted in bronze, adds warmth and character, hand-polished before being delicately blued. With a water resistance of 30 meters, this watch combines functionality and style and is available in entirely handmade leather bracelets.
“The new DC1 is the ultimate tribute to my father and my peers,” Mr. Candaux explains of his creations. All in all, this new timepiece is a homage to horological legends and the watchmaker’s ability to push boundaries and create the extraordinary.
