The Defender OCTA is powered by a 4.4-litre Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine, producing 467 kW and 750 Nm of torque. This allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds, making it the most powerful Defender ever. The vehicle features an extensively revised 6D Dynamics suspension system, ensuring stability and performance on all terrains, from city roads to rugged trails.

With a 28mm higher ride height, an increased width of 68mm, and 323mm of ground clearance, the Defender OCTA is built for extreme conditions. It is capable of wading through up to one metre of water, surpassing previous Defender models. Redesigned bumpers and reinforced underbody protection further enhance its off-road capabilities.

The design of the Defender OCTA reflects both toughness and sophistication. It features 33-inch tyres, the largest ever on a Defender, extended wheel arches, and a bold stance. Customers can choose from exclusive colour options such as Faroe Green and Petra Copper, alongside Carpathian Grey and Charente Grey. A contrast Narvik Black roof and tailgate add to its distinctive look. The Defender OCTA Edition One, available in the first year of production, comes in Faroe Green with a Khaki and Ebony Ultrafabrics PU interior and 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

Inside, the Defender OCTA offers a premium yet durable cabin. The seats come in Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather or Ultrafabrics PU, which is 30% lighter than traditional leather. The Body and Soul Seat technology, integrated with a 700W Meridian Surround Sound System, provides an immersive audio experience, enhancing passenger comfort and engagement.

A key highlight of the Defender OCTA is the new OCTA Mode, the first performance-focused off-road mode on a Defender. This mode optimizes traction, braking, and acceleration for rough terrains, featuring off-road launch control and an advanced anti-lock braking system. It also includes the largest-ever Defender brake discs (400mm diameter), ensuring superior stopping power.

Rajan Amba, Managing Director, JLR India, commented on the launch, “Defender has been a game-changer for us in India, emerging as not only our best-selling model but also the highest-selling model in its category, with stupendous growth in demand since its launch. This iconic vehicle has built an unshakeable brand equity in the market, resonating deeply with clientele who value its unmatched capability, luxury, and adventure. Today, with the launch of Defender OCTA, we are introducing the toughest and the most durable model in the Defender family, that takes luxury and high-performance capability to another level.”
