Bovet’s Récital 21 is reimagined with sapphire crystal dials

Adding three new shades to its repertoire, the new Bovets are dashing and sophisticated.

For over two decades, BOVET has mastered the art of perpetual calendar complications, cementing its reputation in the intricate world of haute horology. Whether paired with other exceptional complications, as seen in the award-winning Récital 22, Grand Récital and Récital 28 Prowess One, or standing alone with an added retrograde date feature in pieces like the Virtuoso III and Virtuoso VII, BOVET consistently pushes the boundaries of craftsmanship.

This year, the maison has reimagined its iconic Récital 21 with a sapphire crystal dial in three captivating hues—green, blue, and brown. This modern twist not only enhances the watch’s allure but also unveils the mechanical marvel within, blending sophistication, innovation, and just the right hint of mystery.

The slightly smoked, colored sapphire crystal dial offers a mesmerizing view of the intricate mechanics beneath, including the day, month, and the mesmerizing interplay of gears, pinions, and wheels. While most indicators are displayed through vertical apertures, days at 12 o’clock, months at 6 o’clock, and the leap year cycle at 3 o’clock—the retrograde date hand elegantly encircles the central time display, creating a dynamic visual experience.

Achieving the perfect tint and clarity without distortion posed a significant challenge, but BOVET achieved it flawlessly. Enhanced with Super-LumiNova, the dial ensures essential information remains legible and luminous, even in the dark, adding a contemporary edge to its timeless design.

For added drama, BOVET engineered the retrograde date hand to slow down during its leap, creating a spectacular transition at midnight on the last day of the month—a delight to witness, particularly on New Year’s Eve. A new system is introduced for simplifying adjustments for perpetual calendars and a unique corrector synchronizes all functions, advancing day, date, month, and leap year indications with each press.

Flip the timepiece over, and the marvels continue. The patented double coaxial seconds mechanism, along with the power reserve indicator, reveals the watch’s five-day autonomy, powered by a single barrel. Meticulously hand-finished components, paired with an in-house balance spring and regulating organ, underscore BOVET’s dedication to precision and artistry, making the Récital 21 a true masterpiece.

The new versions are available in Grade 5 Titanium.
