Glenfiddich takes luxury to new heights with Grand Château, a stunning addition to its Grand Series. This exclusive release sees a creative partnership with celebrated French artist André Saraiva, renowned for his collaborations with global brands such as Longchamp. Drawing inspiration from Glenfiddich’s exquisite craftsmanship and the rich interplay of cultures, Mr. Saraiva has reimagined the Grand Château world through bespoke visuals and limited-edition packaging, with only 250 pieces available.
Regarded as a genre-defining artist, Mr. André revolutionized street art with the introduction of his cheerful, top-hatted stick figure, ‘Mr. A,’ marking a pivotal moment in the art form’s evolution. As the first graffiti artist to replace traditional tags with a character, he earned the title of Paris’ most active street artist. This collaboration further strengthens Glenfiddich’s enduring dedication to supporting the arts, whether through partnerships with renowned artists or by welcoming emerging talents to its distillery to create art inspired by the surrounding landscape.
Glenfiddich Grand Château is a 31-year-old whisky, the distillery’s first to be aged in Bordeaux red wine casks. Initially matured in American oak, it undergoes an additional nine years of finishing in the red wine casks from the French wine-growing region, enhancing the whisky with rich layers of flavor. The result is an indulgent and complex profile, with caramelized cherry and apple intertwined with warming spice and toasted oak—an earthy yet opulent liquid that balances fruity and floral notes.
This unique fusion of Speyside and Bordeaux inspired André Saraiva’s artwork for the packaging, where he blends traditional Toile de Jouy with his signature motifs, disrupting the art form. The limited-edition packaging features Saraiva’s ‘Mr. A’ character, who can be seen playfully selecting the Bordeaux-finished whisky at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Scotland. Furthermore, the 250 limited-edition boxes will feature a vibrant watercolor print by Mr. Saraiva on the inside, emphasizing the collaboration’s artistic essence.
Speaking of the collaboration, Mr. Saraiva said, “When Glenfiddich asked me (and Mr. A) to work with them it felt like a perfect match. I am a lover of whisky and the connection to France with this bespoke liquid allowed for a huge amount of creativity. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful land of Scotland where I was able to truly experience the history and heritage, the people, the inspiring surroundings and taste Glenfiddich. These unique adventures are reflected in my drawings and art for my collaboration with Glenfiddich.”
Glenfiddich Grand Château is available at luxury whisky retailers and premium outlets in select stores across Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Gurugram, priced at approximately ₹2,52,000 (US$ 2,935). The special edition is also available across the globe.
