Austrian watch brand Carl Suchy & Söhne is giving an ode to its home. Marking a world premiere, the watch brand has launched ‘Vienna’, an exclusive timepiece available in a limited series of just 50 pieces. Offered in the brand’s signature hues, Day, Blue Danube, and Night, the watch is designed by the renowned Eric Giroud.
Vienna is a tribute to Viennese Modernism, embracing the philosophy of function over ornamentation. The timepiece reflects the geometric lines of Vienna’s architectural heritage, drawing inspiration from visionaries like Adolf Loos and Josef Hoffmann.
“The dial features a meticulously crafted design with clear lines – it is very much Adolf Loos, very much Josef Hoffmann. I truly enjoyed immersing myself in this world. What fascinated me most was seeing how a brand with 200 years of history develops a new identity by integrating contemporary codes and modern lines,” Mr. Giroud explained. An architect-turned-watch designer, Mr. Giroud has designed watches for Harry Winston & MB&F among others.
With its refined aesthetics, Vienna’s dial plays with light and shadow, while the hands glide seamlessly, embodying the rhythmic motion of the city itself. At the heart of Vienna lies its signature rotating seconds disc, a mesmerizing element that forms a delicate, evolving pattern with every revolution. This feature encapsulates the pulse of Vienna, a silent yet ever-moving heartbeat that defines the city’s rhythm.
Master watchmaker Marc Jenni has meticulously crafted Vienna, incorporating the exclusive Côte de Vienne finish, a nod to the city’s timeless beauty. The timepiece is powered by the ultra-thin automatic CSS-V1 movement, driving the Walzing Disc at six o’clock in perfect harmony.
Encased in a 39mm 316L stainless steel frame, Vienna maintains an understated yet commanding presence, protected by a domed, double anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The artistry continues on the case back, where a golden micro-rotor is exquisitely engraved with double griffins, a regal symbol hidden from view, known only to the wearer.

Completing the design is a fine leather strap, its inner lining subtly adorned with a micro-engraved pattern inspired by the iconic tiles of St. Stephen’s Cathedral. With its seamless blend of tradition and modernity, Vienna is a stunning statement of precision, craftsmanship, and timeless design.
The watch is available for €18,900.
